Growing up online (really?)

Kids are growing up online these days. My cousins know how to operate the PC and send e-cards, operate facebook, comment on blogs and other stuff before even their parents learn about it.
I don't think it's an entirely bad thing. Technology will and has always been evolving. If we dont' keep up with it, who will? Today's kids are for sure way too much into chatting and discovering new relationships online. However, as long as a kid knows not to take it beyond the computer, I think it's acceptable as a decent pass time.
Other than the casual worries, I think the internet has provided all of us with bountiful of resources. I cannot imagine my life right now without it! My laptop has broken, so I'm the right person to ask how it feels! I have to travel to the library every now and then!
And looking at teens today, sure internet takes up their time and helps them in doing homework, but majority of them spend even more time TEXTING! And that happens at a much higher frequency.
I guess as long as technology makes life easier, there is nothing to worry about providing no one ends up stalking you or having facebook take up too many hours of your day!
